My cousin is creating incredible photos that turn parts of the city of New York into planets. Although it’s not the most planet-like, this one is my favorite, I think, because it’s of the corner in Brooklyn with Kellogg’s Diner. I used to live up the street.
Of course, I loved Kellogg’s for being Kellogg’s. My cousin changed his name, so I don’t think he cares so much. I’d guess that he likes the eggs, but I don’t think it’s open anymore.
Hey, thanks for the link and kind words!
My mom is of course a Kellogg, so I do have a similar attraction to the diner. My first time in Williamsburg I took a couple of photos of it for that reason. I’ve tried searching for them in boxes of old, pre-digital snapshots, but to no avail. The diner’s been under renovations for a while now, and the old sign had been taken down and it seemed as if perhaps it was closed for good, but that new sign went up in the last few weeks, and the construction wraps are coming off the windows; so perhaps a re-opening is in the near future. (No eggs for me, but maybe they’ll have some tofu on their new menu?)
Doh! Of course no eggs for you. Sorry.
The pics are beautiful. I’m glad I can keep up on Flickr.
