Steve Erickson is profiled in the LA Times; his latest, Zeroville, is hitting shelves.
“It’s not a Hollywood novel,” Erickson said. “Those tend to be about how movies get made. I wanted to write about how movies have become part of the modern nervous system, the dream language we all converse in from time to time.”
I have to admit that an idiot savant protagonist doesn’t immediately appeal, but if Steve Erickson writes it, I’ll read it. Very, very happily.
It’s a good book.
Wonderful, wonderful stuff. I think it’s one of his best novels.
