At first I thought with his BASS talk Dan was obsessing about fish, but no — he’s got a copy of the 2007 Best American Short Stories on his line.

Apparently, BASS includes a mention of Blood by Matt. (yeah!)

The BBC has got a funny primer on how to read 100 books in 100 days. It includes a) reading standing up in a bookshop and b) reading in a peaceful setting as advice. How these two fit together is probably explained, but, you know, I was busy speed reading the article and didn’t bother with that part.

I’m not the only one feeling overwhelmed already this semester.

Which means I will be in town writing and reading instead of irresponsibly running off to the Brooklyn Book Festival this weekend. I can still dream about the New Yorker’s — maybe my workload will miraculously dissipate by Oct 5.
