The house that mobylives built, Melville House Publishing, has been awarded the Miriam Bass Award for Creativity in Independent Publishing by the Association of American Publishers. Actually, they get the award in March. But they know it’s coming.

Writer Daniel Olivas, who is also the attorney who won the beach access case against David Geffen, might be a bit annoyed today. The LA Times reports that California Costal Commission has overruled its staff and is letting Geffen keep his illeaglly-built Malibu deck — the rest of us, when in the neighborhood, get access to 42 feet of beach.
