AWP fashion. Seriously.

To capture the seriously bad fashion of AWP, we employed a decoy maneuver. Someone (Christopher Rowe, Gwenda Bond, Gavin Grant, Jed Berry or me) would pose near the fashion plate. Picture snapped. Christopher poses with Walter Mosley, who treads the fine line between fashion forward and fashion disaster. Click on the pic to scroll through the set on Flickr.

[...] Gwenda’s reports of bad AWP fashion have been memorialized by Carolyn Kellogg, although it would seem that Tayari Jones was the exception. [...]
I can’t POSSIBLY be the only person now fantasizing about “What Not to Wear: The MFA Special!”
Just for the record here, I thought I was being Lloyd Dobler to Walter Mosley’s Diane Court in this shot, and I think Mosley carries the look.
I believe that means Pinky is Lily Taylor in this scenario. The 1989 version, not the version that shot Andy Warhol.
Aw, no “I know I look and feel awkward in a suit but this dinner is totally a job interview” shots? You can spot those guys a mile away.
And now I can’t stop imagining the songs for “Joe” as written for Walter Mosley.
Your worked a Say Anything scene into fashion dissin’ at AWP? I think I love you.
